OPENING SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant - Revenue & Billing Specialist, will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely recognition of revenue across Choreo's national wealth management platform. This individual will own critical billing and receivables processes, partner closely with advisors, and help drive operational excellence through process improvements, controls, and analytical support.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist with quarterly electronic billing of over 25,000 client accounts. Using the portfolio accounting system and data provided by custodial providers:
Review billable amounts calculated by their systems
Create, audit, and upload the quarterly files to custodians
Manage the follow-on remittance from custodian to Choreo
Evaluate refund requests for appropriateness and when approved by the Billing Supervisor, process and track refunds
Serve as a subject matter resource for billing and receivables inquiries, providing timely support and resolution for advisors, clients, and business partners
CRM task management
Accounts Receivable process including setup of new customers, generating invoices, and cash application
Monthly reconciliation of activity via custodian transactions
Prepare analyses and reporting to support operational decisions, revenue management, audits, and strategic initiatives
Maintain strong controls and documentation around billing, revenue recognition, cash application, and reconciliation processes
Identify and resolve discrepancies related to billing, receivables, and custodial remittances.
Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and improve billing and revenue-related processes to enhance accuracy, scalability, and advisor experience
Overall support of the Finance team
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree from an accredited university in accounting, finance or related field
Working knowledge of revenue recognition principles and GAAP accounting concepts
Strong analytical, quantitative, and Excel skills with the ability to identify trends, exceptions, and process issues
Experience with enterprise-grade accounting software a plus
Minimum 2 years accounting/AR experience
Strong written and oral communication skills; quick to respond
Attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies
Team player with the ability to work independently
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality levels
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fully remote environment with strong communication, responsiveness, and accountability
