About the Role:
The staff accountant will be an essential member of the finance team who is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. In this role you will assist with posting A/P, A/R journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting and month-end close processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and a solid understanding of accounting principles
Requirements

In this role, you will:

Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate financial reporting

Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis

Assist with month- and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments

Maintain and update financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports

Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies

Assist with audits the annual audit of RDF and 20+ SPE’s

Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, variances or areas for improvement

Special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.

MIP Fund Accounting software experience a plus.

Ability to meet tight deadlines and work collectively within a team environment.

Detailed-oriented and able to multitask effectively.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel skills.

Knowledge of the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program is a plus.

Education:Bachelor of Science in Accounting from an accredited university (candidates with non-accounting or adjacent degrees will not be considered at this time).

Job Expectations:40-hour work week with the flexibility to stay longer during special projects.
