I need a clean, well-structured SQL database dedicated to product inventory. The schema should capture every item’s key attributes—SKU, description, current quantity, locations, reorder point and any manufacturing-related fields you feel are essential—while remaining easy to extend later.
Core requirements
• Stock data sits at the centre, so tables must link seamlessly to future purchasing or sales modules.
• I must be able to generate two built-in reports from day one: an inventory summary that can be filtered by warehouse or category, and automatic restocking alerts that flag items below their reorder point.
• A small manufacturing component is required: please include fields or a lightweight table design that lets me track which finished SKU is produced from which component SKUs (bill of materials style).
Acceptance criteria
– Normalised SQL schema delivered as .sql file ready for deployment on MySQL or PostgreSQL (let me know which you prefer).
– Sample data set for testing.
– At least three example queries demonstrating the two reports and a basic bill-of-materials lookup.
– Brief README explaining table relationships and how to run each query.
If you have suggestions that streamline the manufacturing piece or improve report speed, include them in your bid.
