The Project
An 8-minute playable vertical slice for a 2D side-scrolling action game. Combat-focused: melee strings, a timed parry, dashes, four fire-based abilities, a mini-boss duel and a large multi-phase boss. Engine is [UNITY / UNREAL / GODOT]. Everything is rigged and animated in Spine.
What you would deliver
• Spine rigs for six characters from supplied layered artwork, using mesh deformation on cloth, hair and tails
• A full player set of roughly 35 clips — locomotion, three-hit combo, heavy, charged heavy, dash, three parry outcomes, aerial downstrike, four abilities, hit reacts, death
• Enemy sets of about ten clips each, a mini-boss set, and a multi-phase boss set with long readable
telegraphs
• Environment animation loops
• Delivered as .spine project files plus .json, .atlas and .png exports
What I am looking for
• Spine specifically. Please do not bid if your reel is After Effects or frame-by-frame animation.
• Portfolio showing game combat animation, not idle loops or motion graphics. I want to see attacks with real
weight and readable wind-ups.
• You understand attack telegraphing and frame timing for a game with a tight parry window
• Experience exporting to the target engine and working within an atlas budget
How to apply
Start your proposal with the word SKELETON so I know you have read this brief. Proposals without it will not be reviewed.
Then send:
1 A reel or links showing combat animation you personally made in Spine
2 One rig you can show in editor — bone structure and meshes, not only the final output
3 Your rate and realistic availability
