Solution Architect
We are seeking a Solution Architect to support digital transformation and service innovation initiatives across a government organization. The Solution Architect will provide architectural expertise and strategic guidance to cross-functional product delivery teams, overseeing the software architecture of digital services and ensuring alignment with a common architectural vision. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading solution architecture, guiding iterative delivery of user-centric services, and contributing to the development of architectural standards and practices that enable efficient, effective, and affordable digital services.
The Solution Architect will guide teams in rapid, iterative delivery with solution designs that align to architectural vision and technical standards. Responsibilities include developing architectural plans with citizen-centered design principles, uncovering system context, providing technical recommendations and prototypes, reviewing and contributing to code changes, mentoring team members, and communicating architectural information to both technical and non-technical audiences. The Digital Architect may be required to work across one to two projects simultaneously and may perform development work as needed. A strong technical understanding of current and emerging technologies, combined with business acumen and project leadership skills, is essential.
Qualifications
- 5 years of demonstrated experience leading cross-functional agile product teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring developers and technical leads
- 5 years of experience as a software architect, leading the design and delivery of enterprise-scale solutions using modern development stacks in complex organizational environments
- 2 years of experience working with teams that also apply UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design approaches
- 4 years of proven ability to define and communicate solution architecture for large-scale systems, including integrations, modernization strategies, and cloud-native design patterns
- 5 years of strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field of study (equivalencies will be considered)
Nice to Have
- 4 years of experience applying secure development practices and managing identity and access using role-based or attribute-based access control and Zero Trust Architecture principles
- 4 years of experience designing and managing APIs, including RESTful services and system integrations
- 2 years of experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, deployment, and observability
- 5 years of experience incrementally transforming existing legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases
- 2 years of experience with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code practices for cloud or hybrid environments
