Video Editor / Motion Graphics — Ongoing Social Storytelling Project
Looking for a fast, technically capable video editor for an ongoing series of short-form social videos.
I already have the creative direction, stories, rough CapCut concepts, photographs, archival material, video and music references. I am not looking for someone to develop a brand strategy or reinvent the concept.
I need someone who can execute detailed creative direction extremely well and quickly.
Typical work:
* 1–3 minute vertical social videos
* CapCut rough cuts may be supplied as references
* Cutting and tightening spoken narration
* Archival photographs and real historical material
* Photo animation / camera movement / parallax
* Motion graphics and compositing
* Typography and captions
* Music editing and timing
* Sound effects and sound design
* Creative transitions
* Press/newspaper treatments
* Occasional humor and visual callbacks
* Color correction / cleanup
* Platform-ready exports
Visual direction: authentic, sophisticated and story-driven. I prefer real photographs, archival footage and actual artifacts over generic AI imagery. AI tools are welcome when they improve production, cleanup, animation or create an intentional effect, but the finished work should not look like generic AI content.
I will often provide very specific instructions: exact image, sequence, timing, font, movement, transition, music cue, etc. I need someone comfortable executing those instructions accurately.
Creativity is welcome. If you see a better idea, suggest it. But this is primarily a hands-on editing and motion-graphics role, not an open-ended creative-director assignment.
Initial project: approximately 2–3 minutes of finished vertical video.
This can become ongoing work immediately. I have several videos already planned and substantial existing source material.
Budget: approximately $10/hour, or propose a reasonable fixed price for the initial project.
Please send:
* Your 3 best relevant examples — not your entire portfolio
* Software you use
* Experience with CapCut, Premiere, After Effects and/or DaVinci Resolve
* Your hourly rate or fixed-price bid
* Availability today / this week
* Approximate turnaround for a 2–3 minute finished video
Important: Some source material is private/personal. Nothing supplied may be published, shared or used in a portfolio without permission.
Please begin your response with the words “STORY EDITOR” so I know you read the posting.
