Freelance Social Media Coverage for Trekking workshop Event

We are looking for a creative video editor to work with our student club on short-form content for Instagram and other social media platforms.

Project Scope

We currently need a total of 5 short-form reels covering our recent and upcoming club activities, events and travel experiences.

One of the reels will focus on our Trekking Workshop, capturing the energy of the event, outdoor activities, equipment, demonstrations and participant experience.

We are looking for:

Engaging, fast-paced edits suitable for Instagram Reels/YouTube Shorts
Strong use of music, transitions, text overlays, colour grading and storytelling
Ability to turn raw event footage into visually engaging content rather than simple compilations
Creative interpretation of the footage with good pacing and attention to detail

We will provide the raw photos/videos and relevant context. You will be responsible for editing and delivering the final reels.

Potential for Further Work

This will initially be a 5-reel project to evaluate the editing quality and creative fit. If the work is good, we'd like to continue working with the same editor for our upcoming long-duration trips, expeditions and other club activities, which will involve significantly more footage and content.

Ideal Editor

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience editing Instagram Reels/YouTube Shorts
Has a good sense of storytelling, pacing and music
Can create polished, professional-looking edits
Is comfortable working with raw footage from multiple people/devices
Can take creative ownership rather than simply following templates
Has experience with travel, adventure, college events or lifestyle content
