About Buddy
Buddy is a social connection app that helps people find someone to talk to. Whether they want to vent, share what's on their mind, or simply have a conversation, Buddy makes it easy to connect with a real person.
We're launching in the US and looking for someone who can help us build Buddy's presence on TikTok and Instagram through relatable, authentic content.
The role:
We're looking for someone who already lives on TikTok and Instagram and wants to run the front page of a growing app.
You'll be both the face and the hands: shooting your own UGC-style videos, posting daily, running the comment section, and figuring out what actually gets people to download Buddy.
This is not a "schedule the posts that marketing wrote" job. You'll pitch ideas, film them on your phone, and see the numbers the next morning.
Location
We're currently looking to hire from: Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
What you'll do
Script, shoot and edit 8–12 short-form videos a month — phone-shot, UGC style: talking-to-camera, POV, skits, trend formats. You're comfortable being on camera.
Post daily to TikTok and Instagram (Reels + Stories) and own the content calendar.
Write hooks and captions that sound like a person, not a brand.
Catch trends early (sounds, formats, memes) and come up with content ideas.
Who you are
You post regularly on TikTok or Instagram yourself — personal account, meme page, niche account, doesn't matter. Send it to us.
You can shoot and edit on a phone: CapCut / InShot / Premiere, subtitles, jump cuts, trending audio.
You're comfortable on camera and can do five takes without losing your mind.
Fast, self-directed, and fine with feedback like "this hook is boring, redo it."
You understand the difference between a video that gets views and a video that gets installs.
Based in the US.
Nice to have
You've made content for a brand, campus org, club, or your own side project.
Canva, Notion, Later / Metricool or similar.
How to apply: [read this part]
Send us:
> Your resume
> A 30–45 second vertical video, shot on your phone, on why you'd be good at this. Treat it like a TikTok, not an interview. Hook us in the first two seconds.
> Links to 2–3 things you've made. Your own account counts — honestly, it counts most.
> One line: a video idea for Buddy you'd shoot this week.
Duration: 3 months, option to extend or convert to a longer contract
Compensation: $8-10/hour
