Cartera Sol is an Australian skincare brand currently in product development. We are looking for an experienced Packaging / Finished Artwork Designer to take our existing packaging concepts and prepare professional, manufacturer-ready artwork for production.

The overall branding, packaging direction, product copy, colours and concepts have already been developed. Manufacturer packaging dimensions and dielines will also be supplied.

This role is not about developing the packaging concept from scratch. We need someone with strong technical packaging and finished-artwork experience who can refine what has already been created, improve the visual hierarchy and translate it accurately onto manufacturer dielines.

Scope of Work

The successful freelancer will be responsible for:

* Working with manufacturer-supplied dielines and exact packaging dimensions
* Creating final packaging artwork in Adobe Illustrator
* Translating existing packaging concepts into polished, production-ready designs
* Refining layout, spacing, typography and visual hierarchy
* Reviewing the information supplied and recommending what should remain, be simplified, repositioned or removed
* Ensuring the packaging feels clean, premium, considered and uncluttered
* Maintaining consistency across the complete product range
* Correctly setting up bleed, safe areas, cut lines, fold lines and other printer/manufacturer requirements
* Preparing artwork using appropriate CMYK and/or Pantone colour specifications
* Creating separate artwork layers for gold foil, special finishes and other print treatments where required
* Ensuring required product and regulatory information is appropriately accommodated within the design
* Preparing editable Adobe Illustrator (.AI) master files
* Supplying manufacturer-ready / print-ready PDF files
* Liaising on and completing reasonable technical artwork amendments requested by the manufacturer before production
* Checking final artwork carefully for alignment, sizing, consistency and production accuracy

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you will have:

* Professional experience in packaging design and finished artwork
* Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills
* Strong knowledge of dielines and print-production requirements
* Experience preparing packaging files for overseas manufacturers/printers
* Excellent typography, spacing and information-hierarchy skills
* Understanding of premium beauty, skincare, cosmetic or luxury packaging
* Knowledge of foil, Pantone colours and specialty print finishes
* Strong attention to detail
* Confidence providing professional recommendations rather than simply placing supplied information onto a dieline

Experience with beauty, skincare or cosmetic packaging is highly preferred.
