Simplify Research Proposal Introduction

I have an existing research proposal and only the Introduction requires work. The current text is dense with field-specific jargon, and I need it rewritten so that academic peers from neighbouring disciplines can read it without stumbling.

Your task is to recast the Introduction, keeping the substance intact but using clear, accessible language. The revised section must foreground the research objectives in a way that feels natural to readers who understand scholarly work yet are not immersed in my specialty.

Deliverables
• A polished Introduction (roughly the same length as the original) written in plain, engaging prose.
• Highlighted or commented notes showing where and why major changes were made, so I can track alterations easily.

Acceptance Criteria
• Objectives are stated prominently and unambiguously.
• Terminology is either explained in-line or replaced with widely understood equivalents.
• Readability tests at or below a graduate-level Flesch–Kincaid score without sacrificing precision.

I will supply the current draft upon project start; please return the simplified version in an editable Word or Google Docs file.
