Hardware Prototype Design and Experimental Validation of SiC MOSFET-Based Modified Boost Converter
Project Overview
I am looking for an experienced Power Electronics / DC–DC Converter Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and experimentally validate a laboratory-scale prototype of a SiC MOSFET-based Modified Boost Converter.
The main objective is to develop the converter hardware and obtain actual experimental waveforms using a digital storage oscilloscope (DSO). The measured hardware results should be compared with the theoretical calculations and MATLAB/PSIM simulation results.
Required Work
The selected freelancer will be responsible for:
Designing the complete power circuit of the proposed Modified Boost Converter.
Selecting appropriate SiC MOSFET, gate-driver, diode, inductors, capacitors and other components.
Designing the gate-driver and switching-control circuit.
Preparing the PCB/prototype or suitable laboratory hardware assembly.
Implementing the required PWM switching signal.
Testing the converter under controlled laboratory conditions.
Capturing actual oscilloscope waveforms.
Measuring input voltage, output voltage, input current and output current.
Measuring MOSFET drain-source voltage and drain current.
Capturing gate-to-source voltage (V_{GS}) and switching waveforms.
Comparing theoretical, simulation and experimental results.
Providing experimental tables and waveform figures suitable for use in a technical/research paper.
Expected Theoretical Design Parameters
The exact parameters will be finalized based on the proposed converter topology. The design should follow the corresponding theoretical equations for:
Voltage gain
Duty ratio
Inductor current
Capacitor voltage
Output voltage
Input current
Output current
Switching frequency
Inductor ripple current
Capacitor voltage ripple
Semiconductor voltage stress
Semiconductor current stress
Output power
Efficiency
