I have a detailed bid sheet sitting in Excel and I need it converted into a clean, stand-alone Bill of Materials. The only data that must be carried over for every line is the quantity, and I want the finished BOM neatly grouped by material type so it’s instantly clear how much lumber, hardware, electrical, etc. we need to order.
Starting from my workbook, pull each line item, sort it under the correct material-type heading, and place the result in a new tab (or a separate file if you prefer). Keep any formulas that help subtotal or update quantities, but make sure the final sheet is straightforward enough for anyone on the team to filter or print without advanced Excel skills. If a line’s material type isn’t obvious, flag it and I’ll clarify.
Deliverable
• Excel BOM grouped by material type showing the quantity for every item.
Please tell me how soon you can turn this around and if you’d like a sample of the current sheet before you begin.
