Short-Form Video Editor for Personal Brand | IG Reels & Tik Tok

Hi! I’m looking for a creative short-form video editor to work with me on a new Instagram & TikTok personal brand that I’m starting from zero.

I’m currently living in Malaysia after recently graduating from my Master’s in the Netherlands. I originally came here for a 6-month internship with the plan of returning to Europe afterwards, but the longer I’ve been here, the more I’m questioning whether I actually want to leave.

I’m now exploring the possibility of staying in Malaysia, travelling around Southeast Asia and eventually building a more location-independent / digital nomad lifestyle. I want to document that journey through social media and build a genuine personal brand around it.

The content will combine lifestyle, Malaysia/SEA, travel, culture, fitness, self-development and my journey of figuring out what comes next after university.

I’m NOT looking for generic travel videos or basic gym edits. I want captivating, story-driven short-form content that makes people want to follow the journey.

Most videos will be around 15–30 seconds and could include:

* POV/storytelling Reels & TikToks
* Cinematic lifestyle edits
* Fitness/gym/running content
* Malaysia & Southeast Asia lifestyle/travel content
* Voiceover + B-roll videos
* Relatable/funny/simple POV content
* Occasional talking-head content

I’m looking for someone who understands strong hooks and viewer retention, good pacing and storytelling, cinematic B-roll, music and sound design, clean captions/text, modern TikTok/Reels editing, and importantly, when NOT to over-edit.

What I’m looking for

I’m not just looking for someone to edit one video. Ideally, I’d like to find one editor I genuinely enjoy working with and develop the content style together over time.

I already have lots of ideas and a clear overall vision, but I want an editor who is comfortable being creative too. If you think my hook could be better, tell me. If you need different B-roll, tell me what to film. If you see a trend or editing style that could work for my page, send it to me.

If we work well together and the page grows, I’d love for this to become a long-term collaboration and potentially have you become my regular editor in the future.

I’m also very interested in learning more about editing myself over time, so someone who enjoys sharing some of their knowledge along the way would be a bonus, although that’s not the priority initially.

I’m open to editors from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand or elsewhere in Southeast Asia. You don’t need to be a huge or extremely established editor, your portfolio, creativity and understanding of short-form content matter much more to me than the number of reviews you have.

I’m building this account completely from zero, so I’m also looking for someone with reasonable rates who likes the idea of potentially growing with the project.
