# Shopify Developer Needed — Improve Custom Order Flow, UX & Store Features

We are looking for an experienced **Shopify developer** to improve our existing personalized children's book store, **Fibblewick**.

This is an existing Shopify website — we are **not looking for a complete redesign**. We need targeted improvements to the customer ordering experience, homepage, product presentation, and several store features.

Please provide a **fixed-price quote** based on the scope below.

# P0 — Required Scope

### 1. Improve & Restructure Custom Order Form

Change the order flow to:

**Format → About → Photos → Language**

The form must work smoothly on both desktop and mobile.

### 2. Redesign "About" Step

Replace the current large free-text field with multiple structured **short-answer questions**.

At the end, include one optional field:

**“Anything else you'd like us to know?”**

We should be able to edit these questions relatively easily later.

### 3. Fix Photo Upload

Our current photo upload requirements are too restrictive.

Please:

* Allow significantly larger photo uploads
* Make photo upload completely optional
* Allow customers to continue with **0 photos**
* Ensure uploads work well from modern smartphones

### 4. Fix Language Field

The language field currently appears as optional even though customers cannot continue without completing it.

Please make the language field clearly **required** and ensure the frontend label and validation behavior match.

### 5. Homepage Improvements

Please:

* Add prominent messaging that **rewrites/remakes are free**
* Feature actual product/book images much more prominently near the top of the homepage
* Maintain the existing brand/design direction rather than completely redesigning the website

### 6. Product Images / Examples Page

Create a dedicated page showcasing examples/images of our personalized books.

It should be attractive, mobile-friendly, and easy for us to update later.

### 7. Standardize Contact Email

Use the following customer-facing email consistently across the website:

Add our Instagram account to the footer:

### 9. Affiliate Integration

Implement or integrate an affiliate/referral system with:

* Unique referral links/codes
* Conversion tracking
* Purchase attribution
* Basic affiliate reporting

If a Shopify app is required, please **recommend it before installing anything**.

Do not install paid apps without our approval.

# P1 — Can Be Implemented Later

We would eventually like customers to be able to preview the **first page of their personalized book**.

This does not need to be included in the initial implementation if it requires significantly more development.

Please briefly explain how you would approach this feature.

# P2 — Future Improvements

If the initial project goes well, there is additional work available, including:

* Prominent worldwide/multilingual messaging
* Bilingual books (two languages in one book)
* Softcover / Hardcover / PDF comparison table
* Gift packaging
* Personalized gift cards
* Gift/redemption voucher PDF
* Newsletter signup with a free mini picture book
* Free shipping over $60
* Further homepage and UX improvements

# Technical Requirements

You should have experience with:

* Shopify
* Shopify Liquid
* HTML/CSS
* JavaScript
* Custom Shopify forms
* Mobile responsive design
* Shopify app integrations

Please work on a **duplicate/development theme first**.

Do not make major changes directly to our live theme.

Before final delivery, we expect:

* Desktop testing
* Mobile testing
* Order-form validation testing
* At least one complete test order
* Confirmation that all custom order information is correctly recorded
* A short summary of changes made
* Disclosure of any apps or recurring costs introduced
