Project Overview:
We are looking for an experienced WordPress/WooCommerce developer to migrate an existing Shopify store to WordPress/WooCommerce. The goal is to build a fast-loading, low-maintenance e-commerce store with Razorpay integration and a WhatsApp inquiry option, while preserving search engine rankings.
1. Product & Catalog Data
Export all products, descriptions, prices, categories, and high-res images from Shopify to WooCommerce.
Maintain product categories and collections structure.
Map product options (e.g., ring sizes, stone/metal variations) cleanly as WooCommerce Variable Products.
Preserve SEO metadata during migration — product title tags, meta descriptions, and image alt text must carry over or be reproduced, not left blank.
Product price changes may be done when the website is updated.
2. SEO & Link Preservation (CRITICAL)
Set up 301 redirects covering all Shopify URL patterns:
/products/* → /product/*
/pages/* → /*
/collections/* → /product-category/*
Ensure zero 404 errors on existing indexed Google links (verify against a full URL export of the live Shopify site, not just visible nav links).
Reconnect Google Search Console to the new setup, submit a fresh XML sitemap, and monitor the Coverage report for crawl errors during the first 2 weeks post-launch.
Reconnect Google Analytics (or confirm existing tracking ID carries over).
3. Site Design & Visual Standards
- The site must be built as a full, multi-page, polished e-commerce store—NOT a single-page template or bare starter layout.
- The designer must import and customize a premium-style Astra/Kadence Starter Template (specifically tailored for luxury, jewelry, or high-end retail).
- Standard multi-page architecture required:
* Custom Homepage (hero banner, featured collections grid, brand story section, customer reviews/trust badges)
* Dedicated Shop/Catalog page with functional category filters
* Individual Product Pages (image gallery with zoom, variation swatches, tabbed specifications, WhatsApp CTA + Razorpay checkout button)
* Shipping Integration: Setup and integration of the official free Shiprocket plugin (order auto-sync, PIN code check, and automated tracking).
* Secondary "Inquire on WhatsApp" button on product pages.
* Header/Footer layout with styled navigation menu, search bar, announcement bar, and social links
- High-quality styling: Matching brand color palette, clean typography, custom icons, and mobile-optimized layouts.
- Client must review and approve the visual design on the staging site before DNS switch.
4. Hosting & Domain
Install WordPress on client-provided hosting (Hostinger Shared Hosting).
Hosting account and domain registrar login remain under client's ownership and control at all times — developer works strictly within client-provided delegate/temporary access.
Point DNS from current setup to the new host.
Lower DNS TTL in advance of go-live to allow fast rollback to Shopify if critical issues are found post-switch.
Install free SSL (Let's Encrypt).
5. Pre-Launch Review
Build and review the full site on a staging URL/subdomain before DNS is switched.
Test checkout flow, Razorpay webhooks, WhatsApp buttons, and redirect URLs thoroughly.
Client sign-off required before go-live.
6. Post-Launch Support
30 days of included bug fixes after go-live (broken links, redirect gaps, mobile display issues, payment gateway glitches, missed metadata).
Available to review and address any Search Console ranking or crawl issues flagged during this 30-day window.
Key Deliverables
Live, fast-loading (PageSpeed 80+) WooCommerce site with full Razorpay online checkout and WhatsApp inquiry option.
Complete product, category, variant, and metadata import.
Complete 301 redirect mapping — zero broken links across products, pages, and collections.
Google Search Console and Analytics reconnected and verified.
Handover of WordPress admin credentials.
30-day post-launch support window.
