I want to stand up a modern SharePoint hub that serves as the central home for every student club on campus. The hub should feel intuitive and lively, yet remain easy for us to maintain.
Core areas
• A master calendar that pulls in each club’s events so students can see what is happening across campus at a glance.
• Individual club pages. Each page needs a clear club description plus contact details and regular meeting times. I also want an upcoming-events web part and a small photo gallery to showcase recent activities.
• Feedback and suggestions. Students must be able to post their ideas directly here; this is the only section they can update themselves. Submissions should drop into a list so moderators can track and respond.
• A simple browse-by-category navigation. Students will choose an interest area and see all clubs in that category.
• A guidebook section that walks users through the steps, forms, and approvals required to start a brand-new club.
• Optional but preferred: a news area for quick announcements.
Key expectations
1. Build on SharePoint Online (modern experience).
2. Configure permissions so general students have read access everywhere except the feedback list where they can add items only.
3. Use out-of-the-box web parts where possible; if custom SPFx is needed, keep it lightweight and well-documented.
4. Provide a short hand-over document or screen-recording showing how I can add new clubs and events in the future.
If you have recent experience designing communication sites or hubs for higher-ed or student organisations, that will be a plus. Let me know how you would structure the site and an estimated timeline to deliver the first working draft.
