ServiceNow ITOM Discovery, Service mapping, Event management, CMDB activities

I’m rolling out ServiceNow IT Operations Management and need an experienced hand to bring several key modules online—Discovery, Event Management, Cloud Management, Service Mapping, and the underlying CMDB. The objective is straightforward: shorten the path from incident detection to resolution by giving my operations team clear, real-time insight into our hybrid infrastructure.

Here’s how I picture the engagement unfolding:

• Discovery & CMDB – Configure MID Servers, credentials, and schedules so on-prem and cloud assets populate the CMDB accurately, with classifications and relationships aligned to ServiceNow best practices.
• Service Mapping – Build reliable maps for our most critical business services, tying infrastructure components to logical services for faster RCA.
• Event Management – Tune connectors, alert rules, and correlation so actionable incidents surface while noise is suppressed.
• Cloud Management – Integrate AWS and Azure accounts, enable automated provisioning/de-provisioning, and ensure discovered resources stay reconciled in the CMDB.

Acceptance will be based on demonstrable improvements: assets discovered and reconciled, service maps rendering without blind spots, correlated events creating incidents with clear CI context, and cloud resources managed through approved workflows.
