Serious Historical Documentary Editing

I’ve finished shooting a documentary that explores a pivotal historical event and now need an editor to mold the story into a polished, serious-toned film. All of the related footage—camera originals, synced audio, and supporting b-roll—is organised and ready for download, so you can jump directly into the edit.

Your role is to craft a clear narrative arc, maintain tight pacing, and apply thoughtful finishing touches that respect the gravity of the topic. That means:

• Rough cut for initial feedback
• Picture-lock with temp titles, graphics, and a basic mix
• Final graded, mixed master (4K ProRes + 1080p H.264) plus all project files for future tweaks

I work primarily in Premiere Pro but am open to DaVinci Resolve if that’s your preferred tool. If you’ve edited serious, history-focused documentaries before, please share links so I can gauge stylistic fit. Once I review samples, we’ll set a call to align on timeline and any reference materials.
