Senior Physical Security Engineer

Position Summary
The Physical Security Engineer provides regional engineering leadership for physical security systems throughout the planning, design, construction, and commissioning lifecycle. This role ensures every new data center is designed and deployed in accordance with Nscale's global physical security standards while serving as the primary regional engineering authority.
The Physical Security Engineer works closely with architects, consultants, system integrators, and the Data Center Infrastructure organization to ensure physical security requirements are incorporated early into project designs and maintained through final delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
Review architectural and engineering designs for compliance with Nscale standards.
Partner with DCI during planning and design development.
Review security consultant designs, shop drawings, and equipment submittals.
Evaluate proposed changes to scope and specifications.
Serve as technical approval authority for physical security design changes.
Support engineering coordination throughout construction.
Perform installation quality inspections and milestone walkthroughs.
Support commissioning and operational turnover activities.
Provide technical support during construction and issue resolution.
Serve as the regional technical subject matter expert for physical security design and systems engineering.
Success Measures
Reduced design changes during construction.
Consistent implementation of global standards.
Improved installation quality.
Successful commissioning and customer acceptance.
Reduced engineering-related project delays.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
8+ years of experience leading complex physical security, critical infrastructure, construction, or technology deployment programs.
Experience delivering physical security systems for hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
Experience managing cross-functional programs involving design, construction, networking, operations, procurement, and customer stakeholders.
Experience coordinating commissioning, operational readiness, and transition to operations.
Experience working with security system integrators, engineering consultants, general contractors, and owner representatives.
Technical Knowledge

Security networking fundamentals
Structured cabling infrastructure
Low-voltage systems
Security design standards
Electronic security commissioning
Security system integration
Cybersecurity fundamentals for operational technology
Certifications (Preferred)
