Job Summary
Responsible for supporting operational and strategic analytics projects, with cross-functional collaboration. In this role, the analyst leads domain-specific projects, manages cross-functional initiatives, develops project methodologies and ensures project success. Typically reports to a Director, Reporting & Analytics.

The Senior Healthcare Business Analyst is responsible for transforming complex healthcare data into actionable insights that support operational and strategic decision-making across the organization. This role manages recurring and ad hoc reporting requests, develops dashboards and data visualizations, and partners with stakeholders to deliver accurate, meaningful analytics for business initiatives and presentations. The ideal candidate has experience with Epic Clarity, Epic Caboodle, Revenue Cycle operations, SQL, and advanced Excel, and thrives in a dynamic environment where priorities frequently shift. This position requires a proactive, adaptable professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and helping build the foundation for a growing analytics function.Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business or related field preferred; Master’s or advanced clinical degree preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Advanced analytics/healthcare certifications preferred; Domain specific certification or accreditation preferred:

Professional certifications FACHE, CHFP, CAHIMS, CPHIMS

Data Science/Analytics certifications (vary)

Epic Certifications (Caboodle, Cogito, Slicer Dicer, Revenue or Access Data Model)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

2-5 years domain expertise (operations, finance, healthcare)

3-5 years with demonstrated healthcare analytics success

Working knowledge of reporting platforms and data visualization tools

Report design expertise

Competent experience with healthcare databases and business applications

Solid database query and visualization tool skill preferred

Competent cross domain workflow and process knowledge

Competent-level understanding of domain metrics, organizational benchmarks and regulatory requirements

Complex data mining and analysis

Multi-variable trend identification

Root cause analysis

Great written and verbal communication skills

Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

Strong time management skills

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Analyzes domain workflows for operational bottlenecks

Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements

Own business analysis for analytics use-cases

Leads the improvement initiatives and domain analytics information system testing

Collaborate with other teams to drive value

Ensure alignment with healthcare regulations and data governance standards

Designs complex reports for strategic decision support using front end tools

Identifies opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction

Translates business requirements into analytical deliverables

Implements data validation processes and quality controls

Collaborates with BI teams to develop domain reporting solutions

Actively contributes to analytics community and knowledge sharing

Mentors junior analysts and develops team capabilities

Partners with domain leadership on performance improvement initiatives

Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.

Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
