Looking for Philippines-based candidates
Job Role: Senior Full-Stack Product Engineer
Compensation range: $2,000 AUD - $3,500 AUD / Monthly
Engagement type:Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role offers flexible working hours, with an ideal overlap between 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm AEST for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time outside the overlap window.
The exact overlap hours and working days can be flexible by mutual agreement, with an expectation of 45–50 hours per week.
Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.
Who The Client Is: A Melbourne-based education company developing a digital learning platform that supports students, tutors, parents, and administrators. The platform covers bookings, online sessions, learning resources, study planning, payments, and communication.
Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Product Engineer to become the primary owner of the platform and our public site, shipping features end to end, keeping production healthy, and evolving the product over time.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the platform. Build and maintain features across the full stack, from Postgres schema and tRPC procedures through to portal UI, in a Turborepo monorepo of two Next.js apps and thirteen shared packages.
Own the integrations. Keep the third-party tier healthy: Atoms booking, Zoom and Google Meet conferencing, Cloudflare Stream recordings, Stripe trial payments, Resend and Twilio notifications.
Ship reliably. Take features from spec to production through eight CI workflows: typecheck, lint, Playwright, pgTAP, integration suites, migration parity, secret and static analysis, with code review as the gate to release.
Safeguard data. Extend row-level security across every table, hold the service-role boundary, and maintain the append-only audit trail and the PII redaction layer. Much of this data belongs to minors.
Own the public site. Ship and maintain our Next.js marketing site (Multi-Zones alongside the portal), and keep it in step with the Webflow pages it mirrors.
Work independently. Prioritise, plan and deliver as the single engineer, in close contact with the founder, recording decisions as you go.
Tech Stack
Core: Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript 6, tRPC, Zod, Tailwind 4
Data: Supabase, PostgreSQL, Drizzle ORM, Row-level security
Platform: Turborepo / pnpm, Vercel, Inngest, Stripe
Services: Cal.com Atoms, Zoom, Cloudflare Stream, Resend, Twilio
Quality: Playwright, Vitest, pgTAP, Semgrep, gitleaks
Required Skills and Qualifications:
6+ years building and shipping full-stack web products.
Strong TypeScript with React and Next.js, and comfort on current majors (we run Next 16, React 19, TypeScript 6).
Deep SQL and PostgreSQL: relational modelling, migrations, rowlevel security, query performance.
Designing typed APIs (RPC or REST) plus authentication and authorisation flows.
Fluent with Git and CI/CD and a genuinely test-driven workflow. You have kept a suite other people depended on green.
A track record of owning a production product independently, including the operational cleanup, not only closing tickets.
Clear technical writing. Decisions here get recorded, not remembered.
Nice to Have
Supabase (Auth, Storage, row-level security) and Drizzle or a similar type-safe ORM.
Monorepos (pnpm, Turborepo), Stripe, background jobs (Inngest, scheduled functions).
Video delivery (Cloudflare Stream or similar), transactional email and SMS, signed webhooks.
Static analysis and secret scanning (Semgrep, gitleaks, dependency rules).
Experience using AI coding tools in day-to-day development.
Webflow content editing and light Figma work.
About You
A self-directed owner who sets a high bar without close management.
Product-minded, with an eye for design and content, not only code.
A clear written communicator, comfortable working async and remote.
Happy inheriting a codebase you did not write, and improving it in place.
Work Arrangement & Expectations:
This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:
Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
How to Apply?
Submit CV with portfolio or GitHub
