Overview
We are seeking a commercially minded Senior Financial Controller to join a unique role spanning both THG Ingenuity and a private Family Office portfolio.
This role is the finance lead for King Street Townhouse Hotel and Hale Country Club, whilst helping develop the governance, reporting and financial capability of a growing Family Office portfolio
Reporting into senior leadership, the successful candidate will lead a small finance team and act as a trusted business partner to operational management, providing insight, challenge and financial leadership across multiple businesses.
This role offers a rare combination of hospitality, commercial finance and family office exposure, making it an ideal opportunity for an ambitious Financial Controller looking to broaden their experience beyond a traditional finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Hospitality Finance Leadership
Lead all aspects of finance for King Street Townhouse Hotel and Hale Country Club & Spa, including:
Monthly management accounts and performance reporting
Budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning
Board reporting and financial commentary
Cash flow forecasting and working capital management
KPI reporting and analysis
Capex appraisals and investment analysis
Balance sheet oversight and control environment
Annual audit support and statutory reporting
VAT and tax compliance oversight
Commercial Business Partnering
Act as a key partner to operational leadership teams by:
Supporting commercial decision-making
Analysing pricing strategies and revenue opportunities
Reviewing membership, occupancy and utilisation trends
Identifying risks and opportunities within trading performance
Supporting major projects and investment initiatives
Providing financial challenge and insight to proposed business decisions
Family Office Finance Leadership
Support the continued development of a growing Family Office portfolio, including:
Oversight of reporting across international property and private asset structures
Review of management accounts and forecasts prepared by the wider finance team
Coordination with external advisers, accountants and professional service providers
Governance and financial control improvements
Support for strategic projects, acquisitions and new business initiatives
Development of reporting frameworks and management information
The successful candidate will not be expected to arrive with specialist family office or international structuring knowledge, but should have the capability and curiosity to develop expertise over time.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a small finance team consisting of management accounting, finance analyst and finance administration support. Responsibilities include:
Setting priorities and workload planning
Reviewing and challenging financial outputs
Coaching and developing team members
Improving processes and controls
Building resilience and succession within the team
Driving continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives
Skills & Experience
Essential
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Experience operating at Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager level
Strong management and financial accounting experience
Budgeting, forecasting and business planning expertise
Advanced Excel skills
Experience leading and developing finance teams
Strong stakeholder management and business partnering capability
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
Desirable
Hospitality, leisure, hotel or membership business experience
Multi-entity group experience
Property or real estate exposure
Family office experience
Experience working within an owner-managed or entrepreneurial business
Experience managing international operations or assets

Improve governance and reporting across the Family Office portfolio
Build the foundations for future growth across both the hospitality and Family Office businesses
