Senior Data Engineer – Drilling Data Extraction & AI Tooling
Urgent Requirement: Senior Data Engineer – Drilling Data Extraction & AI Ingestion Tooling
We are urgently looking for a Senior Data Engineer with Upstream Oil & Gas drilling experience to lead AI-powered document extraction pipelines and ingestion tooling for enterprise well data models.
Mandatory requirements:
1. Data Engineering, ETL & Drilling Operations
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
• At least 5 years of data engineering or data science experience, including 3+ years processing unstructured or semi-structured technical documents.
• Upstream Oil & Gas domain knowledge: Daily Drilling Reports (DDRs), drilling technical documents, BHA/casing/mud data, and well operations.
• Hands-on familiarity with industry-standard well engineering data models and well management databases (strongly preferred).
• Advanced Python for ETL/ELT pipeline design, data manipulation, cleaning, and automated parsing.
• Advanced SQL and database experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Strong data quality management: field validation, business rule checks, schema mapping, duplicate removal, and end-to-end data lineage tracing (source-to-page).
2. AI Document Processing & Ingestion Tool Development
• Practical experience configuring and optimizing OCR engines and GPT-based LLMs for entity extraction and data enrichment from scanned PDF reports.
• Experience building ingestion tools and data pipelines supporting automated processing, error/exception queues, and automated validation.
• Experience configuring and testing role-based access control (RBAC), data entitlement filtering, and audit logging.
• Experience supporting the deployment and testing of AI assistants linked to structured engineering databases.
• Experience with Git, Docker, CI/CD practices, and Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
• Professional English communication skills (mandatory); Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
• Availability for an online technical interview in English.
• Availability to join the project if the contract is awarded.
