Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Database & Analytics Developer to join a Local Authority's Software Development Team. This role is ideal for a professional with extensive expertise in The Access Group Children's Services Mosaic data model, focusing on data extraction, reporting, business intelligence, and analytics development. The successful candidate will independently deliver expert technical insights that the current team lacks. Responsibilities include designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting reporting solutions and analytics using Mosaic data, while also contributing to broader database and business intelligence projects. Please note that this position requires candidates to be based in the UK due to system and server access constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Mosaic Data & Reporting

Serve as the expert on The Access Group Children's Services Mosaic data model.

Create and develop complex reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions using Mosaic data.

Analyze and interpret intricate data requirements from Children's Services and stakeholders.

Develop reporting datasets and business intelligence solutions to aid operational and strategic decisions.

Independently identify, extract, transform, and present data from Mosaic and related systems.

Database & Analytics Development

Design, develop, implement, and maintain corporate database solutions.

Create complex data integrations and automated data flows.

Support business intelligence and performance reporting initiatives.

Design and maintain reporting structures, data warehouses, and analytics environments.

Provide technical expertise in SQL Server, Oracle databases, and other database platforms.

Business Intelligence

Develop and support reporting and business intelligence solutions.

Ensure access to accurate management information and performance reporting.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions.

Enhance data quality, accessibility, and reporting efficiency.

Technical Support & Improvement

Troubleshoot issues related to reporting, databases, and analytics.

Offer technical guidance and support to end users and stakeholders.

Produce technical documentation, guidance, and support materials.

Recommend improvements to data storage, reporting processes, and analytics capabilities.

Support corporate data governance and information management activities.

Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with service managers, analysts, developers, and operational teams.

Coordinate with third-party suppliers as needed.

Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

Assist users in understanding reporting outputs and business intelligence tools.

Requirements

Requirements:

Extensive experience with The Access Group Children's Services Mosaic data models.

Proven track record in developing data and analytics reporting solutions using Mosaic data.

Strong SQL development skills.

Significant experience with:
Microsoft SQL Server

Oracle Databases

Microsoft Access

Relational Database Management Systems

Experience in designing and maintaining:
Business Intelligence Solutions

Data Warehouses

Data Storage Solutions

Reporting Frameworks

Proficiency in creating complex reports and dashboards.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent skills in technical documentation and report writing.

Capability to translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions.

Desirable

Experience within Local Government Children's Services.

Familiarity with Mosaic reporting frameworks and integrations.

Experience with data warehouse architecture and business intelligence platforms.

PRINCE2 Foundation qualification.

ITIL Foundation qualification.

Experience in Agile development environments.

Experience mentoring or supporting technical staff.

Qualifications

Degree-level qualification in ICT, Computing, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant experience.

Relevant database, reporting, or business intelligence qualifications are advantageous.
