Senior Azure DevOps Engineer for Codebase and Infrastructure Analysis
I need a senior hands-on contractor to work directly with me through approved remote desktop or screen-sharing sessions to analyze an existing Azure-based, multi-tenant enterprise data platform. You will navigate repositories, trace application and infrastructure behavior, explain the architecture, identify issues, and recommend practical improvements.
Technology stack: Microsoft Azure, Terraform, Terragrunt, HashiCorp Consul, HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault, AKS/Kubernetes, Jenkins, Java, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Git, Linux, and Ansible. Networking includes VNets, private endpoints, private DNS, DNSMasq, and Infoblox.
Scope:
- Review agreed repositories, services, shared libraries, infrastructure modules, and deployment pipelines.
- Trace Terraform/Terragrunt inheritance, dependencies, providers, regional configuration, and Consul-backed state; identify hardcoded settings and state-isolation risks.
- Analyze Git-to-Jenkins-to-Consul configuration flows, secrets retrieval, service discovery, DNS resolution, and AKS deployment configuration.
- Trace Java service requests, tenant authorization, PostgreSQL schemas and roles, connection routing, replication, disaster recovery, and regional migration dependencies.
- Review representative ingestion, data modeling, lineage, data quality, SLA monitoring, workflow, and publication paths, including Snowflake integrations. Assess MCP/AI integration where present.
- Explain findings during live sessions and document confirmed issues, supporting code references, and recommended actions.
- Deliverables: repository inventory, architecture and dependency diagrams, representative execution traces, prioritized findings, and a remediation roadmap with a final knowledge-transfer walkthrough.
- Required: strong Azure, Terraform/Terragrunt, Consul, AKS, Jenkins, PostgreSQL, Java code-reading, and troubleshooting experience. Experience with Snowflake, Ansible, DNSMasq, Infoblox, and MCP is preferred. Clear spoken English and availability for scheduled US Eastern Time sessions are essential.
Start with a paid discovery milestone to confirm repository coverage and estimate the assessment. Initial work is analysis only; implementation and production changes will be separately scoped. All access and code handling must remain within approved systems.
