I need my Ubuntu droplet on DigitalOcean fully hardened and served behind Cloudflare SSL. Your first task is to configure Cloudflare so the site loads over HTTPS without warnings; Full or Full (Strict) is fine as long as it’s end-to-end encrypted.
Once SSL is sorted, lock the server down. SSH is the only exposed service, so it must be bullet-proof: key-only logins, non-standard port (if practical), root login disabled, fail2ban (or similar) in place, and an automatic e-mail that alerts me—showing IP, user, date, and time—every time someone successfully authenticates.
Complement that with:
• UFW/iptables rules limiting inbound traffic to the essential ports.
• Unattended security updates.
• Log rotation and basic integrity checks (e.g., Lynis report or equivalent).
• Clear documentation of everything you touch so I can reproduce it later.
Deliverables
1. Cloudflare SSL active and verified.
2. Hardened SSH configuration with real-time IP-based login alerts.
3. Firewall and intrusion-prevention rules applied.
4. Post-hardening report summarising all changes and security-audit output.
