SAP ABAP TM Enhancements & Reports

I need an experienced SAP ABAP developer who knows the Transportation Management (TM) component inside-out. Your work will revolve around three core objectives:

1. Build custom operational reports
• Design and code new ABAP reports that pull TM data in a clear, performance-optimized way.
• Follow SAP best practices for selection screens, ALV output, and authorization checks.

2. Enhance existing TM modules
• Refactor or extend current ABAP classes, function modules, and BAdIs.
• Keep all original functionality intact while adding new business rules that I will specify.
• Update technical documentation so future transports are seamless.

3. Integrate TM with other SAP modules
• Create or adjust IDocs, RFCs, or OData services that pass data between TM and connected modules (e.g., MM, SD).
• Ensure error handling, logging, and performance tuning are in place.

I will provide functional specs, access to the development system, and a transport layer. Deliverables are: complete, well-commented ABAP code; unit test evidence; and a brief deployment guide. Strong communication and adherence to SAP development standards are essential, as I plan to move the solution to QA immediately after sign-off.
Required Experience
Proven hands-on experience as an SAP TM Developer.
Strong ABAP and ABAP Objects development skills.
Practical experience with SAP BOPF in an SAP TM environment.
Good understanding of BOPF Business Objects, nodes, associations, determinations, validations and actions.
Experience enhancing and debugging SAP TM Business Objects without modifying the SAP standard.
Good understanding of SAP TM end-to-end processes.
Knowledge of order- and delivery-based transportation scenarios.
Experience integrating SAP TM with SAP SD and SAP MM.
Experience with 3PL interfaces and external logistics providers.
Previous experience in international implementation or rollout projects.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Fluent English is required.
