Sales Engineer (INDIA)
Company: Trustbridge (a venture of Vulcury LLC)
Location: Remote, India
Engagement Type: Independent contractor, commission-based
Compensation: Commission on closed orders. About Trustbridge
Trustbridge is building a smarter way to get manufacturing work done. We connect companies that need complex, custom parts with the right manufacturing partners worldwide. Our customers work in aerospace, medical devices, automotive, industrial hardware and hardware startups. We don't operate as a traditional rep agency or a generic marketplace. We combine engineering judgment, strong supplier relationships and technology to deliver faster and better sourcing outcomes.
Trustbridge is incubated by Vulcury, a U.S.-based venture studio founded by a former Deloitte strategy consultant and the ex-CEO of 3Diligent. Our core operations are in the U.S., and China and Southeast Asia are central to our manufacturing network. This role is based in India, which puts you in a time zone that overlaps well with suppliers across the region.
About the Role
As an India-based Sales Engineer, you'll manage Trustbridge's sourcing and sales activity across China and Southeast Asia. You'll combine technical manufacturing knowledge with commercial drive. You'll turn customer RFQs into winning quotes, match jobs with capable factories across the region, and help close orders. Your earnings are tied directly to the business you help win.
You'll work closely with the CEO, the Asia venture lead and the product team. You'll have real ownership of live customer deals from first RFQ to delivered parts.
What You'll Do
Sales & Customer Engagement
Review customer RFQs, technical drawings and BOMs, and assess whether each job is feasible to manufacture
Prepare competitive quotes by balancing supplier pricing, lead times, logistics and margin
Act as the technical point of contact for customers, answering questions on processes, materials, tolerances and finishes
Follow up on open quotes, negotiate terms and push deals to close
Identify new customer opportunities among companies sourcing from China and Southeast Asia
China Market
Build and manage a network of reliable Chinese manufacturers for CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, casting and fabrication
Vet suppliers remotely on capability, quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 where relevant), capacity and export readiness
Negotiate pricing and lead times, and coordinate samples, first-article inspections and production runs
Manage quality, communication and timeline risks on cross-border orders
Southeast Asia Market
Map manufacturing capabilities and cost structures in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines
Position Southeast Asian suppliers as cost-effective or China+1 alternatives for customers
Onboard new manufacturing partners and build long-term relationships with them
Operations & Product Input
Keep CRM entries, RFQ tracking and the supplier database accurate and up to date
Share structured feedback with the product team on pain points in quoting and supplier coordination
What We're Looking For
2+ years in sales engineering, technical sales, international sourcing or supplier development
A degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial or a related engineering discipline (preferred)
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to read engineering drawings (GD&T is a plus)
Experience sourcing from or selling into China and/or Southeast Asia, ideally with an existing supplier network in the region (strongly preferred)
Familiarity with cross-border trade: Incoterms, export documentation, third-party inspections and freight coordination
Proven ability to negotiate and close deals
Clear, professional English for working with U.S. and global stakeholders
Mandarin proficiency is a strong advantage, and Vietnamese, Thai, Bahasa or other regional languages are a plus
Self-driven and comfortable managing remote supplier relationships in a performance-based role
Why Join Us
Uncapped earnings: your commission grows with the orders you close
Real ownership: you'll handle live deals with global customers from day one
Flexibility: fully remote from India, and you manage your own schedule
Growth: you'll help build Trustbridge's Asia manufacturing network, with room to grow alongside the business
