I am looking for a signed and stamped Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) structural set for a temporary shade structure for a three-day event in Columbus, Ohio.
This project requires a 24-hour turnaround.
Project Details:
- Structure: Fabric canopy (220 ft long x 24 ft wide) composed of several small triangles.
- Support: Wire cables rigged between two rows of seven existing telephone poles, with shade material attached to the cables.
- Requirements: Signed Ohio PE stamp demonstrating compliance with high-wind conditions and an action plan to evacuate the structure at 40 mph sustained winds.
I will supply the preliminary drawings, as well as the connection and rigging details. Your role will be to review, refine where necessary, and seal the structural set to meet City of Columbus code review standards.
I am using 8mm steel cable to rig the shade.
There are 19 panels
Deliverables:
- Ohio PE-signed and stamped digital drawing files
Rigging plan:
Start at one pole (not where the label is located) and secure with zip ties; pull the fabric to the opposing pole and secure with zip ties. The fabric should be on top of the cable that goes from pole to pole. There are small tabs underneath the centre of the panel; zip-tie them to the cable below. Then pull out each tip and secure with zip ties. Once each tip is secure, go back and zip-tie all perimeters closed.
