I’m looking for a designer who can turn my rough concept of a rugged-style protective case into a ready-to-print 3D model. The final file will be printed in PLA, so wall thicknesses, overhangs, and snap-fits need to respect PLA’s rigidity and lower flexibility compared with ABS or TPU.
Scope
• Translate my measurements, reference photos, and style notes into a detailed CAD model.
• Integrate typical rugged features—raised edges around the screen, reinforced corners, easy-grip textures, and room for button and port access.
• Optimise the geometry for FDM printing: minimal supports, clean bridging, and tolerances that allow the parts to mate snugly after print cleanup.
Deliverable
• One print-ready STL (plus the native CAD file) that slices successfully without errors and fits the device on the first try. If minor tweaks are needed after a test print, one revision is included.
Acceptance criteria
• 0.2 mm or less non-manifold errors on mesh check.
• Chamfers/fillets where overhangs exceed 45°.
• Corner drop test simulated or reinforced to handle minor shocks.
Print bed is 250x250x250 so needs to stay within those dimensions for the outside of the case.
Interior dimensions need to be 141x141x 115mm with the bottom part being 75mm deep and the top part being 40mm deep.
The case needs to have a durable latch (I can get hardware if you tell me what’s needed after.
I also want a handle recessed on the back side.
The top needs to have a recessed square area that is 10mm deep. And I want the case to be stackable/ locking with another case.
The AI photo shows all of this and is exactly what I want (do not include the coin on top)
