Romantic Short Story Collection

I’m putting together a collection of romance-focused short stories and I’m looking for a skilled writer who can bring fresh, emotionally engaging narratives to life. Each story should be self-contained yet feel as though it belongs in the same “romantic world,” appealing to a broad, general audience rather than a niche readership.

What I need from you:
• Original short stories set within a contemporary or lightly imaginative romantic setting—feel free to explore different time periods or sub-genres (light fantasy, gentle comedy, bittersweet realism) as long as the central thread is romance.
• Clear, vivid prose that draws readers in quickly and pays off with satisfying character arcs or memorable twists.
• Manuscripts delivered in an editable format such as Google Docs or Microsoft Word, with basic formatting already in place (title, scene breaks, page numbers).
• A brief synopsis for each story so I can see at a glance how it fits the overall tone of the collection.

Acceptance criteria:
• Stories are completely original and free of plagiarism.
• Language remains accessible to a general audience—no explicit content beyond a tasteful PG-13 level.
• Final files pass a standard grammar-checking tool (Grammarly or similar) with minimal flagged issues.

If you have samples that show a flair for romance or strong character work, please share a link or attach a short excerpt when you respond. I’m excited to read your work and collaborate on a project that will speak to every reader who still believes in love stories done right.
