2D Animated Music Video – Retro 80s Superhero Cartoon Style
Project Overview
We are looking for a creative 2D animator to bring our original superhero characters and storyboard to life in an animated music video.
The Creative Vision
We have written and produced an original song (approximately 4 minutes long) and developed a storyboard featuring five original superhero characters.
Our vision is to create an animated music video with the look and feel of an iconic 1980s Saturday-morning cartoon opening sequence.
Think nostalgic retro animation inspired by shows such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and He-Man – bold characters, vibrant colours, expressive movements and fun, energetic cartoon action.
Animation Style
We are looking for 2D limited animation with a retro 1980s cel-animation aesthetic.
Think classic Saturday-morning superhero cartoons, with bold outlines, vibrant colours, expressive characters, dynamic poses and energetic transitions.
We are not necessarily looking for highly detailed, full-frame animation, but rather a fun, stylised cartoon opening sequence that brings our five characters to life and captures the nostalgic feel of classic 80s animation.
What We Will Provide
● Completed original song (approximately 4 minutes).
● Storyboard outlining the animation concept and sequence.
● Character designs and images of our five original superhero characters.
● Creative direction and visual references.
What We Are Looking For
A 2D animator who can use our supplied characters and storyboard to create an engaging animated music video, bringing the characters to life and matching the animation to the energy and rhythm of the song.
We are open to working with an animator who can bring their own creative flair to the project while staying true to our original concept.
Potential for Ongoing Collaboration
This project is the beginning of a larger creative vision. If the collaboration is successful, there is potential for ongoing animation work into 2027 as we look to develop and produce an online animated series featuring our original characters.
We would love to establish a creative relationship with an animator who is interested in being part of the journey as the project grows.
