Resolve Work Order Page Timeouts

Our Work Order page is part of a PHP-based web application running on a MySQL database. Under load it frequently times out; when that happens only some of the selected spare-part lines are written to the database, throwing our inventory counts off and forcing manual corrections.

I need you to trace the root cause, remove the timeout, and guarantee that every Work Order either commits completely or not at all. That may involve query optimisation, refactoring the save routine, adding proper transactions, or introducing asynchronous calls—whatever the cleanest, most maintainable fix proves to be.

Acceptance criteria
• The page loads and saves in under five seconds with our current data volume (≈300 line items).
• No partial writes: inventory and Work Order tables stay perfectly in sync even under forced interruption tests.
• A brief changelog describing what you touched and why, plus any configuration tweaks required for deployment.

You will have access to a staging copy of the PHP codebase, the MySQL schema, and sample data. Once your patch is verified there, I’ll push it to production.
