Node-RED + CODESYS OPC UA Dashboard
I have developed a **Smart Warehouse Order Processing & Monitoring System in CODESYS** using Ladder Logic. The CODESYS HMI is already working, and the PLC simulation is running.
I want to create a separate Node-RED dashboard** that connects to my CODESYS PLC through OPC UA without disturbing my existing CODESYS HMI.
What I have done so far:
* Created the complete warehouse logic in CODESYS.
* Created the CODESYS HMI with buttons, status indicators, gauges, and order information.
* Enabled the CODESYS OPC UA server.
* Verified the OPC UA server using UA Expert; the variables show *Good* status there.
* Installed and configured Node-RED with OPC UA nodes.
* Configured the endpoint as `opc.tcp://localhost:4840`.
* Added my CODESYS variable NodeIds, for example `ns=0;i=85`.
* Started building the Node-RED dashboard with System Running, Processing Active, Emergency Stop, Fault Active, Current Order ID, Total Orders, Elapsed Time, Timer Done, Order Request, Order Complete, New Order Pulse, Start/Stop/Reset buttons, and a processing-time gauge/chart.
Current problem:
The CODESYS OPC UA server appears to work correctly in UA Expert, but Node-RED's OPC UA Browser is not successfully browsing the nodes.
The OPC UA Browser sometimes shows "Done" but no items, and I am getting errors.
I have tried configuring the endpoint and browser, but I cannot get the CODESYS variables to appear correctly in Node-RED.
What I need:
I am looking for someone who can either:
1. Fix my existing Node-RED OPC UA connection/browser and complete the dashboard, or
2. Create a new Node-RED dashboard from scratch that connects to my existing CODESYS OPC UA server.
The final dashboard should display the PLC variables and provide controls similar to my existing CODESYS HMI, while keeping the existing CODESYS project/HMI untouched.
I can provide screenshots, the CODESYS variable list, Node-RED flow, and UA Expert configuration.
