Residential / light commercial estimator needed for a paid 1-hour software test (US only)
Quote60 is a new estimating and job management web app for residential and light commercial builders. Before launch, we want real estimators and contractors to try it on a sample project and tell us honestly what works, what's slow, and what's confusing.
This is a one-time paid test, not an ongoing role.
WHAT YOU'LL DO (about 60 minutes, on your own schedule)
- Create a free account (no payment details needed)
- Import a sample price list and open a set of residential plans
- Do a quick takeoff: rooms, walls, doors and windows
- Turn it into a priced estimate and look at the client quote
- Record your screen and talk out loud the whole time: what you expect, what you click, what confuses you
- Answer a few short wrap-up questions at the end
We're testing the software, not you. There are no wrong answers.
PAY
$60 fixed price for the completed recording, paid through Freelancer.com.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- You price residential jobs or prepare construction estimates regularly (GC, remodeler, builder, estimator or project manager)
- You work on residential or light commercial projects in the US
- You have a laptop or desktop with a microphone and can record your screen (QuickTime on Mac or Snipping Tool on Windows is fine)
- You're based in the US
Nice to have: experience with PlanSwift, Bluebeam, STACK, Buildertrend or Excel-based estimating.
HOW TO APPLY
In your bid, tell us: (1) where in the US you're based, (2) your role and how many years you've been pricing residential or light commercial work, (3) how often you prepare estimates, and (4) what you use to estimate today. If selected, we'll send you the plans, the price list, the step-by-step task list and how to send the recording. Please complete it within 3 days of receiving the files.
