Residential Cat-6 Socket & Patch Setup

I’m upgrading the network in my residential home and need an experienced data cabling specialist to fit Cat-6 cable sockets and a small patch panel. All the outlets will sit outside of the individual rooms, specifically along the hallways, so the job involves pulling the cable through existing wall cavities, terminating each run into clean wall-mounted RJ45 faceplates, and landing the other ends neatly on a compact patch panel near the incoming router.

Scope of work
• Run Cat-6 cable through the hallway walls without visible trunking (unless unavoidable).
• Punch-down and secure each cable into flush wall sockets.
• Mount and wire a rack- or wall-mounted patch panel, clearly labelling each port to its corresponding hallway outlet.
• Test every run with a cable tester to verify Gigabit performance and provide the test results.

Acceptance criteria
1. All sockets sit flush and level with no gaps.
2. Patch panel ports are numbered and labelled to match sockets.
3. Every cable passes continuity and speed tests and is documented.

You’ll bring the punch-down tools, cable tester, and any consumables beyond the Cat-6 I already have on site. Once everything is in place, a quick walkthrough of the installation and test results will complete the job.
