Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Remote Interior Design CAD Drafter to support our design team by producing accurate, high-quality interior construction drawings and documentation. In this role, you will translate design concepts, sketches, markups, and field information into organized AutoCAD drawing sets while maintaining drafting standards and coordinating with designers throughout the design and construction process. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of CAD drafting experience, strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp with familiarity of Revit, and experience preparing residential or commercial interior construction documents. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while working U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and revise interior construction drawings in AutoCAD.
Produce floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and interior details.
Translate designer sketches, markups, and specifications into clear technical drawings.
Incorporate architectural, consultant, and field information into drawing sets.
Maintain consistent drafting standards, layers, annotations, dimensions, and file organization.
Coordinate drawings to identify inconsistencies or missing information.
Update drawing sets throughout the design and construction process.
Assist with drawing packages for client review, pricing, permitting, and construction.
Communicate questions and potential conflicts to the project designer or senior drafter.
Manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines.
Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Proficient level of English (written and spoken).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
3–5 years of CAD drafting experience, preferably in interior design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp is required; familiarity of Revit is preferred.
Experience producing interior design or architectural construction documents.
Working knowledge of interior construction, materials, finishes, cabinetry, and basic millwork.
Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and consultant drawings.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow established drafting standards and direction.
Degree or technical training in interior design, architecture, drafting, or a related field is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and follow established processes.
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems and workflows.
Professional, dependable, coachable, and accountable with excellent attendance.
