TYPE: Independent Contractor (1099)
COMMITMENT: Ongoing - Approximately 5-7 hours per week

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our trucking company is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented DOT Compliance & HOS Coordinator to support our small fleet of four drivers. This is a flexible, remote contractor position focused on Hours of Service (HOS) compliance, driver coaching, training oversight, and safety administration.

TOOLS NEEDED:
We provide access to all required software systems. The contractor must have a computer, reliable internet connection, and the ability to work independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and audit driver HOS logs daily
Identify violations, log discrepancies, and compliance concerns
Communicate with drivers regarding HOS requirements and necessary corrections
Coach drivers on proper ELD/HOS usage and FMCSA regulations
Track completion of mandatory monthly training modules
Follow up with drivers regarding incomplete or overdue training
Maintain compliance records and documentation
Submit a brief daily compliance report to management
Escalate any safety or compliance concerns as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with ELD systems and HOS log auditing
Knowledge of FMCSA Hours of Service regulations
Previous experience in trucking, transportation, safety, compliance, or dispatch
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and professionally
Reliable computer and internet access

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience as a Safety Coordinator, Compliance Specialist, Fleet Manager, Dispatcher, or similar role
Experience coaching drivers on HOS compliance and log management
Familiarity with CDL, HOS, FMCSA, Hazmat, Tanker, or Professional Driver training and logistic safety programs
