Architect / Building Designer – Ongoing Cabin Approvals (Remote / Worldwide)
We are an Australian building design company seeking an experienced Architect, Building Designer or Building Permit Coordinator to assist with ongoing cabin approval projects across Australia.
We work with an established cabin supplier, 1800 Cabins, who supplies cabins to customers throughout Australia.
We require someone who can take ownership of each project, working directly with the cabin supplier, their customers, consultants and building surveyors to coordinate the necessary documentation and approvals.
Scope of Work:
Prepare site plans showing the proposed cabin positioned on the customer's property.
Work directly with the cabin supplier and their customers throughout the project.
Communicate with customers to obtain information, provide updates and explain requirements.
Coordinate relevant documentation, including property information, title documents, surveys, DBYD, energy reports and engineering documentation.
Liaise with building surveyors, engineers, consultants and relevant authorities.
Prepare and coordinate building permit applications and planning permit applications where required.
Respond to building surveyor requests and arrange any necessary amendments.
Follow up outstanding documentation and keep projects moving towards approval.
Manage multiple cabin projects simultaneously.
Requirements:
Experience in architectural drafting, building design or building permit coordination.
Ability to read, prepare and amend architectural drawings using CAD software.
Understanding of Australian building regulations and approval processes, or previous experience working on Australian building projects.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
Communication – Very Important:
Must speak and write fluent English.
Must be confident communicating professionally over the phone.
Must be available for phone calls with our team, cabin supplier, customers and consultants during Australian business hours.
Must be proactive in providing updates and following up outstanding matters.
Must be comfortable dealing directly with customers and explaining project requirements.
Location: Worldwide – Fully Remote
Applicants can be based anywhere in the world. You do not need to live in Australia.
However, you must be able to work with Australian projects, communicate during Australian business hours and understand the requirements of Australian building approvals.
Ongoing Work Available
We have a regular flow of cabin projects and are looking for a reliable professional interested in a long-term working relationship.
We will provide standard cabin drawings and project information. Your role will be to manage the documentation and coordinate the approval process through to completion.
