MS Tax is a US tax and accounting firm (Columbus, Ohio). We keep the books for small businesses across the US, many of them trucking companies. We are hiring an experienced remote bookkeeper (Bolivia preferred) to run client books in QuickBooks Online.
What you will do
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts every month.
- Categorize transactions, work with bank feeds and set up bank rules.
- Close the books monthly and keep them clean.
- Prepare P&L and balance sheet, find and fix errors in them.
- Clean up and catch up neglected books for past months and years.
- Handle loans, leases and fixed assets (common in trucking companies).
- Follow our written procedures and ask when something is unclear.
What we need from you
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, not an entry-level role.
- Hands-on daily experience in QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Desktop alone is not enough.
- English good enough to read client documents, bank statements and our instructions, and to write short messages to the team. No phone work with clients.
- Attention to detail: you notice a reconciliation that does not tie and you fix it.
- Reliable internet, your own computer, availability during US business hours (at least 4 hours overlap with Eastern Time).
Nice to have
- US bookkeeping or US tax experience.
- Experience with trucking or transportation clients.
- Spanish and English both fluent.
How we hire
1. You send a short CV and 3 to 5 sentences about your QuickBooks Online experience: what kind of clients, how many sets of books, what you did yourself.
2. Practical test in QuickBooks Online. Every candidate completes a test assignment in a QBO sample company (reconciliation, categorization, finding errors in reports). Please apply only if you are ready to do it.
3. Video call with our team.
4. Paid trial period on real client books.

- Full-time remote, long-term contract as an independent contractor.
- Monthly pay in USD, amount discussed at the interview based on experience.
