Job Summary:
We are actively seeking a successful, growth-minded sales professional with the drive to accelerate business growth and revenue growth in our Regional Sales Manager position. This position is key to achieving sales, profit, and market expansion targets for the business, which is reflected in competitive compensation and bonus potential.
Power Instruments business is growing at a double-digit rate over the planning horizon, creating significant opportunity for a sales leader who can help convert that momentum into sustained revenue growth.
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for the entire Western Region of the United States. This position will be responsible for selling our Measurement & Monitoring, Protection & Control, and Sensor products both directly to customers and through a representative network.
Preferred residence: California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, or New Mexico.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, execute, and manage regional sales strategies to achieve bookings, revenue growth, profit targets, and sustainable business growth
Drive growth across investor-owned utilities, municipals, EPCs, and industrial customers by identifying new opportunities, expanding share of wallet, and converting pipeline into revenue
Manage, train, and expand relationships with manufacturer representatives, distributors, and OEM partners
Identify and onboard new channel partners to expand market coverage and drive penetration
Build strong relationships with key accounts within utilities and large industrial customers
Serve as the regional subject matter expert on all current and future Power Instruments products
Collaborate cross-functionally (product management, engineering, operations) to align solutions with customer needs
Provide accurate forecasting, CRM pipeline management, and market intelligence
Champion a growth mindset by challenging the status quo, seeking continuous improvement, and proactively pursuing new markets, applications, and customer relationships
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (Electrical Engineering or Business preferred)
5+ years of experience selling technical products within the power transmission, distribution, or generation markets
Knowledge of Western U.S. utility and energy markets, including renewables and grid modernization initiatives
Experience with metering, power system communications, protection & control, or related technologies
Familiarity with major Western utilities (e.g., PG&E, Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric, Bonneville Power Administration, Xcel Energy, Arizona Public Service)
Experience in renewable energy markets (solar, wind, storage) and grid modernization initiatives
Willingness to travel approximately 20-40%
Desired Qualifications:
Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans
Experience building relationships with utilities, OEMs, and channel partners
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools
Proven success selling into utility protection & control, metering, or engineering departments
Experience managing both direct accounts and channel/rep networks
Demonstrated track record of revenue growth and territory expansion
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics into measurable revenue growth
Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
Ability to work independently in a geographically complex, high-density market
Ability to manage a large, geographically dispersed territory with high travel requirements
Understanding of regional regulatory environments and procurement processes
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Strong problem-solving and customer issue resolution capabilities
