Refresh Rooftop Restaurant Menu Copywriter

We’re looking for a freelance copywriter to refresh the food and drinks menus for a Southeast Asian rooftop restaurant and bar with an approachable, premium feel.

The writing should be warm, polished and easy to scan. Each description should give guests a clear sense of what to expect and a reason to try it.

Scope of work

- Review the existing menus and establish a consistent tone of voice across food and drinks.
- Write and refine item descriptions, section headings and short introductions where needed.
- Work with the restaurant team to confirm details and with the menu designer to make sure the copy fits the layout.
- Revise the copy based on team feedback and proofread both menus before they go to print.

Deliverables

- Final food and drinks menu copy in an editable document, organised by section
- A final proofread of both menus in their designed layouts

We’ll provide the existing menus, item details and brand direction. We’ll agree on the project fee, timeline and revision rounds before work begins.

What we’re looking for

- A portfolio that shows concise, engaging writing and the ability to adapt to a brand’s voice.
- Strong editing skills and attention to detail.
- Restaurant, bar or hospitality copywriting experience is preferred.
- Graphic design or menu layout skills are a bonus.
