Reduce Audiobook Peaks for Audible

I have an audiobook master that currently clips above 0 dB. It must comply with Audible’s peak requirement of at least –3 dB, as explained in “Guidance – Section 1 – Adjusting High Peaks.”
You will work from the original uncompressed WAV I’ll supply and deliver a cleaned version whose loudest sample sits safely below –3 dB with no audible distortion or pumping. Loudness, noise floor and overall tone should remain unchanged; I simply need those stray transients tamed so the file passes Audible’s automated check.

Feel free to use any professional DAW or plugin chain you prefer—what matters is a transparent result that meets the spec. When finished, return the processed WAV (and a short note on what you did) so I can spot-check and upload.
