3D Character Artist Needed: Highly Realistic, Print-Ready Figurine Based on a Real Person
Project overview

We are looking for an experienced 3D character artist to create a highly realistic, premium collectible figurine based on a real person.

The model must achieve a strong and recognizable likeness from multiple angles while also being fully engineered for professional resin printing. We do not need only an attractive digital render. The final geometry must be manufacturable, stable and suitable for producing a physical prototype.

The finished figurine will be approximately 200 mm tall. The final scale, including or excluding the base, will be confirmed before production preparation.

Scope of work
The artist will be responsible for:
Creating an accurate full-body sculpt based on provided photographs and references.
Capturing the person’s recognizable facial anatomy and identity.
Matching the approved body proportions, hairstyle, expression and pose.
Modelling the complete outfit, footwear, accessories and props.
Creating the custom display base shown in the references.
Ensuring both feet physically and naturally connect to the platform.
Preparing the model for professional resin printing.
Separating the figure into logical production parts where necessary.
Creating clean keyed connections and concealed assembly seams.
Providing consistent presentation renders from all required angles.
The final result should look like a premium realistic collectible figurine rather than a generic character, game model or beauty-rendered digital person.
Likeness requirements
The face is the most important part of the project.
The artist must accurately reproduce:
Face shape and underlying bone structure.
Eye shape, position, spacing and colour.
Nose shape, profile and projection.
Mouth shape and lip proportions.
Jawline, chin and cheek structure.
Eyebrows, makeup and expression.
Hairline, hairstyle and major sculpted hair sections.
Natural asymmetries that contribute to the person’s identity.
The model must remain recognizable from the front, profile and three-quarter angles. Automatic beautification, excessive symmetry or generic facial features will not be accepted.
Printability requirements
The model must be designed specifically for SLA/DLP resin printing and not merely converted from a render model.

The final files must:
Be watertight and manifold.
Contain no holes, non-manifold geometry or open surfaces.
Contain no inverted normals.
Contain no accidental internal geometry.
Contain no unresolved intersections.
Avoid zero-thickness surfaces.
Use millimetres as the working unit.
Maintain sufficient thickness for hair, fingers, clothing edges, accessories and other fragile details.
Preserve readable details at approximately 200 mm production scale.
Have a stable centre of gravity.
Have both feet fully connected to the base.
Use practical part separation for printing, painting and assembly.
Include keyed joints with appropriate assembly tolerances.
Place seams in visually unobtrusive locations.
Account for fragile elements, overhangs and potential print failure.
Include appropriate drain holes if a hollow version is requested.
Be test-sliced and checked before final delivery.
Exact wall thicknesses, tolerances and hollowing requirements must be coordinated with us and the selected manufacturer. They should not be chosen without considering the actual printing process.

Materials and presentation quality
The digital presentation should clearly distinguish between materials such as:
Skin.
Hair.
Leather.
Fabric.
Metal.
Footwear.
Stone or architectural elements of the base.
Material differences must be visible through appropriate colour, roughness and surface treatment. The skin should still look like a high-quality painted figurine rather than a photograph of a real person.
Textures cannot be used to hide insufficient geometry. Important details that must appear in the physical print need to be represented in the sculpt itself.
Required deliverables

The final delivery must include:
Editable source file, such as ZTL, BLEND, MA or MB.
High-resolution unsplit master sculpt.
Production-separated version with all individual parts.
Print-ready STL files for every part.
OBJ or FBX version of the complete model.
Solid watertight version.
Hollow or otherwise print-prepared version if required by the manufacturer.
Correctly scaled files in millimetres.
UVs and PBR texture files if texturing is included.
Final colour and material setup.
Front, back, left, right and three-quarter renders.
Detailed face, outfit, footwear and accessory renders.
Neutral studio renders showing the geometry clearly.
A short production note describing scale, part separation, tolerances and assembly.
Screenshots or report confirming that the final files passed mesh checks and test slicing.
All source files and production files must remain editable.
