Hi, I’m looking for an Unreal Engine developer to build a proof of concept of a locally running, interactive 3D character for a museum-style installation. The character represents a historical painter from centuries ago and is built entirely as a 3D model in Unreal Engine.

What it should do:

Have a spoken conversation with visitors, answering questions based on a supplied knowledge base about the painter’s life and work
Run locally on one computer, without structural dependency on the internet
High-quality real-time 3D look (Unreal Engine MetaHuman), natural facial animation and preferably full-body animation
Ideally placed in a 3D scene where the character performs actions, e.g. painting behind an easel

What this is not: no face swapping, no editing of real photos or video footage, and no cloning of a real person’s voice. The character is a 3D creation with a generic synthetic voice, clearly presented to visitors as an interactive museum character.

I’m open to your advice on software and hardware (e.g. MetaHuman, Audio2Face, local LLM, local speech-to-text and text-to-speech).

Budget: EUR 250 fixed for a working proof of concept, paid when agreed acceptance criteria are demonstrably met. Full handover of source code, project files and documentation is required.

Alternative scope proposals are welcome, but only with proof of comparable work you built yourself (demo video, live link or repository).

Could you share:

2-3 examples of similar real-time 3D character or MetaHuman projects you built
What you can deliver for EUR 250 and what would run locally
Your approach and estimated timeline
