Our station’s foot-over-bridge needs a 90-degree turn added to one of its steel stair flights to release space for new signalling gear. I will supply the original GA drawings in DWG/IFC, existing connection details, and Network Rail standard references. Your role is to deliver a complete design modification: re-configure the flight and landings, verify the altered member capacities to BS EN 1993 and NR/L2/CIV/003, and turn the outcome into fabrication-ready CAD drawings.
Work scope
• Update the 3-D model and 2-D sheets in Tekla, Advance Steel, or equivalent.
• Revise stringers, treads, plates, bolts, and handrails, retaining existing interfaces with concrete slabs and adjacent steel.
• Produce a brief structural note confirming adequacy of all modified members.
• Issue final deliverables as DWG/DXF plus a collated PDF set for Form F003 submission.
Acceptance criteria
– No geometric clashes with the retained structure.
– Calculations show equal or greater capacity than the original design.
– Drawings, dimensions, and coatings comply with current Network Rail standards.
Send a detailed project proposal that includes:
• Project timeline with key review dates,
• Technical approach (software, codes, key assumptions),
• Materials specification for every new or altered steel element.
I will review proposals as they arrive so we can move straight into the work and keep the station upgrade on schedule.
