QuickBooks Claude Code Multi-User Virtual Terminal Setup

I need a virtual terminal built and configured so my team and I can run QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop 2017 together from home without relying on screen-sharing tools like AnyDesk. I’m open to whichever host OS you feel is most stable and cost-effective, as long as the end result lets up to five people connect simultaneously through Remote Desktop (or a comparable, secure protocol).

I would like to also create a Claude Code environment as well on that terminal.

Here’s what matters to me:

• QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop 2017 must run smoothly for multi-user mode.
• Two permission tiers are required: I keep full admin rights while the rest of the team works under standard user accounts.
• Connection speed and data security—TLS/SSL, strong passwords, and proper firewall rules—are non-negotiable.

Deliverable: a fully operational virtual machine or cloud instance (AWS, Azure, Proxmox, Hyper-V—your call) with QuickBooks installed, user roles set up, and a short hand-off guide so we can add future users ourselves.

If you’ve deployed similar accounting terminals before, I’d love to hear how you would approach licensing, nightly backups, and performance tuning.
