I’m commissioning a complete, journal-ready research paper that explores how Building Information Modeling improves cost estimation and budget management within construction projects. My focus is qualitative: I want the narrative built on a solid literature review and two-to-three carefully selected case studies that expose a genuine research gap and show how BIM streamlines financial decision-making from early design through close-out.
Scope and structure
• 8,000–10,000 words, formatted for peer-review submission (APA 7th).
• Sections: Abstract, Introduction (with clear problem statement and gap identification), Methodology, Findings from literature and case evidence, Discussion, Conclusions, and References.
• Data sources must combine recent scholarly work with real-world project documentation/interviews where available, emphasising lessons learned and measurable cost outcomes.
• Critical analysis should link model-based quantity take-offs, 5D scheduling, and cost forecasting to reduced overruns and improved budget tracking.
Acceptance criteria
1. Research gap is explicitly articulated and supported by citations.
2. Each case study is anonymised or referenced with permission, includes project scale, BIM tools used (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, CostX), and documented cost performance.
3. All claims are backed by at least one of the following: peer-reviewed sources published after 2018, primary project data, or triangulated findings across cases.
4. Turnitin similarity below 10 %.
5. Editable Word file plus a PDF ready for submission.
