I have a working physical prototype and now need a seasoned mechanical design engineer to turn that rough build into fully–engineered, production-ready documentation. The product is already past the concept stage; I’m deep in prototyping and want to tighten tolerances, improve manufacturability, and verify performance before moving on to tooling.

What I’ll hand over
• Current CAD files (SolidWorks) and STEP exports
• Photos, functional notes, and target materials
• Key performance requirements and envelope constraints

What I need back
• Updated 3D models reflecting better DFM/DFA choices
• Detailed 2D drawings with critical dimensions, fits, and tolerances
• Lightweight FEA or hand calculations where necessary to justify changes
• A short design note explaining each modification and its benefit

Please highlight relevant experience—projects you have taken from prototype to production, the industries you know best, and any specialties such as plastic part design, sheet-metal work, or complex assemblies. A concise overview of how you normally approach prototype refinement is enough; no elaborate proposal decks required.

SolidWorks is preferred, but Inventor or Creo users are welcome if you can supply neutral files. Fast, clear communicators who iterate quickly with me will be the best fit.
