Blaby District Council has secured funding to support the publication of four datasets. However, as the Council’s sole GIS Officer, I do not have the capacity to complete the full scope of work required for two datasets within the available timescales. We are therefore exploring alternative resourcing options and would like to establish whether this work could be delivered as an external service.
The datasets requiring assistance are Listed Buildings and Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs).
The work will involve reviewing and cross-referencing existing spatial data against textual information held by the Council and/or available from external sources. Tasks will include correcting existing mapped records, creating new records and fields within the relevant GIS layers, and populating these fields with the appropriate textual information.
The successful provider will work closely with me and the Council’s Historic Buildings Officer to ensure the data is accurate, complete and suitable for publication.
We anticipate the work will take approximately 12 weeks, although this may be reduced depending on the number of hours allocated per week. We aim to commence in November or December 2026, with a firm completion deadline of 31 March 2027.
The work can be undertaken remotely or through a combination of remote working and on-site attendance, depending on project requirements.
